Lead Quality Assurance Engineer (QA)

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for testing and verifying changes to the TribePad core platform and the value-added apps that sit around the core software.

You will be working closely with our Software Development team to help investigate and resolve customer raised issues and help to plan, build and complete various projects and new features.

You will also be working alongside our Customer Support team in order to provide operational support which will include keeping our customers up to date with the outcome of testing and verifying issues that have been raised.

You will also be responsible for planning and managing testing schedules, ensuring tests and results are accountable and reported back to the relevant departments.

Role Responsibility

​To produce test plans for projects and changes.

To ensure all tests are traceable and accountable.

To build and maintain automated tests where required.

To provide accurate estimates for testing requirements and deadlines.

To work with the support and development teams to help investigate and verify customer raised issues.

To work alongside the development team to assist in project planning.

The Ideal Candidate

If you would like to be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following core skills:

Experience in software testing (ideally web application testing).

The ability to learn quickly.

The ability to learn by watching training videos and reading manuals.

Be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.

Be able to examine problems from multiple perspectives.

Show a good understanding of agile project management processes - ideally Kanban.

Make contributions to team meetings, putting forward and backing up your own ideas and suggestions.

Be able to describe the rationale and thinking behind your chosen decision or course of action.

Be able to look for a range of learning opportunities to advance and develop your own skills and knowledge.

Is able to to make timely decisions based on sufficient analysis of alternatives.

Can take rapid corrective action when results fall behind expectations.

Desirable Skills:

Basic programming knowledge such as JavaScript or PHP (Laravel framework).

Basic knowledge of Git and other command line tools.

Understanding of web security and penetration testing.

Basic understanding of Vagrant and virtual technologies - ideally VirtualBox.
